This Automated Teller Machine (ATM) is different. Not cash, but this one dispenses gold coins.
Goldsikka with technology support from city-based startup, Opencube Technologies has launched its first Gold ATM at Begumpet.

ATM can dispense gold coins in different denominations ranging from 0.5 gm to 100 grams.
Customers can use their debit or credit card to buy gold coins of different denominations.
The prices are displayed live on the screen making it transparent and clear for the customers and the coins are dispensed in tamper proof packs certified with 999 purity,” Sy Taruj, CEO of Goldsikka said.
The important feature of the ATM is that the gold prices are updated live.
On what if the gold is not dispensed once the amount is debited,Generally one will get back the money within 24 hours if the transaction fails.

Taruj said plans were being drawn to launch 3,000 machines all over India in the coming two years.The ATM has a capacity of storing 5 kgs of Gold. We are also planning to go global. We will also come up with a version 2 of this machine." On the safety features of the ATM he said that the ATM has a built-in camera and sound alarm system,which will trigger if someone tries to tamper with it. We have 3 external CCTV cameras and we are also getting tied up with local police stations," he added.
The Vice President of Goldsikka Pratap said, "Goldsikka Limited is a company incorporated 4 years back. We are into bullion trading. Our CEO got an innovative concept of dispensing gold coins through an ATM machine. After doing a bit of research, we found out that it is possible. We tied up with a start-up company, OpenCube technologies.The gold prices there are updated and displayed on the screen and so are the taxes.
The company plans to launch three machines in Hyderabad at the airport, old city and propose to launch them in Karimnagar and Warangal also.We are also planning to go global.
Goldsikka has done market research on the need for gold ATMs based on consumer psychology. “We find that many buyers want to invest in gold but have inhibitions to go to a big shop to buy it in small quantities. The ATMs provide an easy option,” he said.
The ATM can dispense gold coins in different denominations ranging from 0.5 grams, 1 gram, 2 grams, 5 grams, 10 grams, 20 grams, 50 grams to 100 grams (in multiples of 5 grams).
